 Access via e-mail

Introduction
Messages can be transmitted via e-mail to a mobile phone (SMS), to a pager, to a fax (incl. attachement), or a telephone (voice message) from your regular mail program (MS Outlook, MS Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger, Lotus Notes, etc.). 
 1. Setup

Activate in the menu Account settings-> Email access the option "allow messages via e-mail".
Allowed sender addresses: Here you can define which e-mail sender addresses are allowed to send a message via eCall to e.g. a mobile phone.

Here is where you define whether the recipient receives the specified number (Reply to number:) or a number from eCall (SMS reply via eCall) as sender number.
In the second variant, the receiver has three days to respond to this number, so that the reply can be delivered to the sender.

 Important:

- In order to send messages via e-mail you have to enable the checkbox "I accept that messages can be sent by email to the debit of my eCall account." under the menu item "Account settings: Email access".
(see: 1. Setup) - Please note that the length of the transmitted message depends on the recipient and your account type (mobile: max. 160 - 1600 characters / pager: max. 80 characters).
- You may define up to 10 sender addresses for private eCall, 5000 sender addresses and/or optionally, for example, *@xy.ch (wild chars) for business eCall.
- After the opening of your account only format 4 is available. If you have an eCall private or eCall business account you can activate all the other formats in the account settings.
- As sender address your e-mail has to contain an address, which you entered in the list of allowed sender address in the account settings.

 Option:

You can use the options "Request a Delivery Receipt" and "Request a Read Receipt", which you are accustomed from your mail application (e.g. Outlook), for eCall. The functions may differ a little:
When activating the option "Request a Delivery Receipt" you will receive a confirmation (Delivery Notification) from the e-mail server of eCall, as soon as your e-mail has reached it.
In addition you will receive a confirmation of receipt (notification) as soon as the message has been confirmed by the receiver (mobile).
